Marabella Family Crisis Centre enhanced its chances of claiming third place in the Southern Football Association Petrotrin Super League Premier Division with a 2-1 win over Big Dreams United on Saturday.
Arkivo Joseph and Akida Boissiere got a goal each for Marabella to cancel Marcus Ramkhelawan’s item for Big Dreams. The win carried Marabella to 36 points, three ahead OJs Soldado All Stars with only Saturday matches against Penal All Stars and PAL United left to play.
Soldado All Stars was one of four teams to win their matches in the Premier Division by default, over Penal Rock Road, with Penal All Stars, Petrotrin Palo Seco and champions Pt Fortin Civic Centre, the others.
Pt Fortin, which is undefeated in 19 matches, has an unassailable 51 points, nine clear of second placed T&TEC, to secure the lone spot to the T&T Football Federation Champion of Champions Tournament, a qualifier for the National Super League 2013 season.
Tomorrow, Pt Fortin Civic Centre and Marabella were due to meet in the second-leg semifinal of the SFA League Cup, however that has now been re-scheduled due to both teams involvement in the T&TFF FA Trophy competition against Guaya United and Joe Public (Super League) respectively.
Last week in the first-leg Pt Fortin, which has also won the Executive Cup already this season won 2-0 with Steven Joseph and Andre Alexis on target. The other second-leg semifinal will go on as scheduled with T&TEC, taking a 7-3 lead over newly promoted University of T&T 7-3 into their encounter, at Tarouba, Link Road tomorrow (Wednesday).
