Cunupia FC and Edinburgh 500 have booked their spots into the semi-final phase of the Chaguanas Borough Corporation Hugh Francis Memorial Cup, which takes place on Tuesday at Hugh Francis ground (formerly Woodford Lodge).
The Central Football Association (CFA) men’s football competition saw Edinburgh 500 defeat Enterprise Youths 2-1 at the quarter-final stage, getting goals from Ryan Ramsey in the 11th minute and Christopher Eneau in the 42nd minute.
After trailing by two goals, Enterprise Youths pulled a goal back in the 44th minute through Aurean Sobers, but made no further inroads. Meanwhile, just a 74th minute Lester Joseph gave Cunupia FC a 1-0 win over XTRAFOODS Chaguanas FC.
Cunupia FC now await the quarter-final winner between today’s quarter-final between Leeds FC and Perseverence United. Leeds won 3-0 over Arawak Combined FC to reach the quarters. Tuesday’s other semi-final sees Edinburgh 500 facing the victors of the Enterprise Life Sport versus Harlem Strikers quarter-final, set for 6.30 p.m. kick off tomorrow at New Settlement ground.
