Renefour Martin and Kerville Jeremiah scored two goals apiece as Marabellla Family Crisis Centre crushed University of T&T 4-1 to move to within a point of claiming the Southern Football Association Petrotrin Super League “Big-Six” competition.

With the win on Saturday night at Ben Lomond Recreation Ground, Williamsville, Marabella climbed to the top of the six-team table with ten points from four matches, the same as Barrackpore United FC.

However, Marabella leads the table by virtue of its superior goal-difference of plus-ten to Barrackpore’s plus-five and will clinch the title with a draw when both teams meet on Saturday at Barrackpore, while the latter needs a win.

But before that encounter, Barrackpore will try to take home the SFA’s League Cup when it comes up against the winner of last night’s other semifinal which stood at 2-2 between UTT and Executive Cup winners, Moruga. This after Barrackpore won its two-legged semifinal, by thumping Penal All Stars 7-1 on aggregate.

The winner of the League Cup which will be contested tomorrow (Wednesday) will earn $4,000 and the runner-up, $2,000.
