Veteran football administrator Lennox Sirjuesingh has been recalled to the Central Football Association (CFA) as a replacement for General Secretary Christopher Regis.

His appointment was made two weeks ago by the association president Shymdeo Gosine after an alleged falling out with Regis, who it is assumed was supporting a vote of no-confidence against the President.

Efforts to reach Gosine for a comment on the matter proved futile, but Regis confirmed for Guardian Media Sports on Tuesday about the latest development within the Zone saying that: "They are trying to get me out."

Regis was appointed by Gosine in December 2019 as the replacement for Clynt Taylor, who was on an opposite slate to him for the T&T Football Association's Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Elections on November 24, 2019.

Gosine contested the TTFA AGM election on the Richard Ferguson' slate and went up for the position of 3rd Vice President but was beaten by Joseph 'Sam' Phillip on the winning United T&TFA team, which comprised president William Wallace, vice presidents Phillip, Clynt Taylor and Susan Joseph-Warrick (in no particular order).

Regis said as general secretary he forwarded a letter that was written by a club in the zone and seconded by another club to the executive, requesting a general meeting to be held to remove Gosine as the Zone football head via a vote of no confidence according to the Zone's constitution.

However, the letter appeared to have been intercepted by Gosine who later summoned his Board for a meeting to remove Regis.

Gosine needed the support of his Board which comprises Ordinary members - Gregory Mc Sween, Wilfred Edwards, David Ramkhelawan (Assistant Secretary Operations), Keisha Lewis (Assistant Secretary Admin), Allan Logan (2nd Vice President) and Wendell Collymore (1st Vice President), which he received overwhelmingly to replace Regis.

Guardian Media Sports was reliably informed by a person with knowledge about the matter that a letter has already been sent to the T&T Football Association's (TTFA) (Nornalisational Committee) informing it about Regis' removal.

Regis said that he's prepared to tell all about the president's lack of interest in the sport in the central area and environs. For one, he said, It is the first time he has seen a president who has never held any football-related meeting with his members.

"Central football hasn't gone anywhere since former president Bryan Layne left. There have been no football development plans or considerations for youth football in central, and he has never held a meeting with his members. This is something I asked about because I wanted to see development. Another thing is that as general secretary I never once saw the association's bank account. I knew there was activity taking place by the president but I do not have any knowledge of what was going on and I was the secretary," Regis explained.

His replacement Sirjuesingh has served central football for many years in the same capacity, before being replaced.
