Valtrin United kicked off its quest for a second title this season in the Emerald Apartments and Plaza-sponsored Eastern Football Association with an 11-0 humiliation of Boss in round one of the knockout competition on Thursday.

Dwight Critchlow, Nathan Lewis and Kerdyn Moe all scored hattricks for Valtrin, the FA Trophy winner. Lionel St Clair and Jadeno Theobold added one each on the NUGFW ground, Valsayn.

Joe Public and Upper Santa Cruz also won it first round matches in contrasting styles. Joe Public blasted Crowne United 6-1 on Squadron ground, Arouca, and Santa Cruz won by default from Malabar Superstars, which failed to show up on the Crowne Street ground.

Meanwhile, the EFA Under-17 FA Trophy competition will begin tomorrow with two matches—Tunapuna Titans facing Trincity Nationals at Constantine Park and Creek meeting Joe Public at the Larry Gomes Enclosure, Malabar, both from 3 pm.
