Defence Force, one from bottom in Group B of the Media 21 Limited-sponsored Northern Football Association, went on the warpath, kicking Group A leaders FCI out of the League Cup.
Christopher Durity, Remell Bradshaw, Shane Betaudier, Garth Griffith and Cade Duncan scored one goal each in the Army-Coast Guard 5-3 demolition of FCI.
Terrence Clarke, Shem McFarlane and Leon Cox scored one each for FCI. In another League Cup game, Westside Starz dumped out Paragon 9-0 with Sheldon Taylor scoring three goals, Raymond St Hillaire and Shem Jones two each, Kevon Dove and Josh Alleyne one each.
Petit Valley United edged past New Millennium 1-0 on a goal by Jermin Jeffers. But St Ann’s Rangers and RSSR will have to replay their game after a 1-1 draw.
Marcus Oliver scored for Rangers and Jerry Goddard got the RSSR goal. Dathea Football Academy shut out Queen’s Park 2-0 with goals from Allan Pope and Jevon Regis in the other fixture.
Meanwhile, Maple beat Paragon 1-0 on a goal by Richard Ayers in a Group “A” league match, but Dathea were held 0-0 by Petit Valley United. Lowly Morvant Elements and RSSR drew their match 1-1 but FCI whipped USC 4-2.
Leon Cox grabbed a hat-trick and Justin Nicholas scored the other goal for the winners while Keron Brown and David John got one goal each for USC.
And in Group “B” action, Queen’s Park and New Millennium drew 2-2 with Marcus Simpson scoring both goals for the Parkites while Keron Ash and Duane Walker got one each for the other team.
St Ann’s Rangers shut out neighbours St Francois Nationals 3-0 with goals from Ian Forde, Kyle Davidson and Kareem Davidson.
Defence Force edged Belmont 5th Dimension 1-0 whle Westside Starz thumped Malvern 4-1 with Keron Simon, Brandon Fountain, Akiel Gilbert and Sheldon Taylor scoring one goal each.
