Ghymo Harper and Kurt Williams found the target to lead OJ Soldado All Stars to a 2-1 win over Uprising Youths to take the $10,000 Southern Football Association Roy Jagroopsingh Second Division title on Saturday.
The victory at the Guapo Ground carried All Stars to 33 points from their allotted 14 matches, the same as Marabella CC but with a superior goal-difference of plus-37 to plus-27 to take the divisional crown.
Marabella ended its season on a high with an 8-0 mauling of Young Shottas led by a beaver-trick from Matthew Young at Guaracara Park, Pointe-a-Pierre, to seal second spot and the $7,000 runnesr-up cheque.
Both All Stars and Marabella also gained promotion to the Petrotrin Super League for next season. Currently, Siparia Spurs lead the Super League table with 42 points from 18 matches, three more than Penal Rock Road which has a match in hand while Alutrint La Brea All Stars, the other club with a chance of league glory, is third with 37 points and two matches left to play.
