M&M Real Maracas is one win away from capturing the Premiership Division Big Four crown in the Emerald Apartments and Plaza-sponsored Eastern Football Association.

 

After edging St John’s United 1-0 in its opener, the Maracas Boys turned back Carib 2-1 on Sunday coming from behind.

Kervin Blackford opened the scoring in the 27th minute for Carib but six minutes later Kurt Danclair equalised. Handwell Manswell got the match winner in the 69th.Defending champion, Joe Public stayed on course by toppling St John’s United 5-1 with Kevin Caprietta notching a beavertrick. Caprietta’s goals came in the seventh, 20th, 44th and 69th minutes.

The title will be decided next week Tuesday when Real Maracas and Joe Public, which was held to a 1-1 sraw by Carib in its first round match, clash on Squadron grounds, from 4 pm.

In the First Division Big Four, Malabar took an early lead after shutting out Southeastern Connection 2-1 with goals from Fabian Henry (32nd) and Michael Hospedales (71st).

1st FC Santa Rosa played to a 1-1 draw with Tunapuna Titans in the other match.
