Len Mejias and Kerwyn Baptiste both netted braces as Siparia Spurs whipped PAL United 4-1 to remain top of the Southern Football Association Petrotrin Super League table on Saturday.
With the win, Spurs carried its points tally to 40 from 15 matches, five more than second placed Anthony Cook “Big-Four” winner OJ Soldado All Stars and Penal Rock Road with five matches left for each team to complete their 20-game schedule in the hunt for the $20,000 top prize.
Second will collect $10,000 and third, $8,000. All Stars was locked with Uprising Youths at 1-1 when its match was called off due to an incident involving only Soldado players.
La Brea All Stars, fourth with 31 points also from 15 matches kept its title hopes alive with a narrow 3-2 win over Diamond United while Petrotrin and Penal All Stars drew 2-2.
In the Roy Jagroopsing Second Division, T&TEC kept its seven point lead over Brick Field Falcons with a 2-1 victory over Los Iros.
