A professional Caribbean league spanning the mainly island nations would boost football's development in the region and could be a reality in three or four years, CONCACAF president Jeffrey Webb said on Tuesday.

Trinidad and Tobago Pro League outfit Caledonia AIA will attempt to get another taste of the Concacaf Champions League when they face off against Portsmore FC of Jamaica in two key Caribbean Football Union playoff qualifiers on May 20 and 22.

Caledonia AIA of Morvant-Laventille on Wednesday qualified for its second consecutive CONCACAF Champions’ League after wrapping up a two-match play-off against Jamaican club Portmore United with a 3:2 aggregate score.

Caledonia AIA resurrected its chance of qualifying for the 2013/2014 CONCACAF Champions’ League by defeating Antigua and Barbuda outfit Barracuda FC 3-1 on Sunday at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva.

Caledonia AIA are one foot inside a second consecutive appearance in the CONCACAF Champions’ League after edging Jamaican club Portmore United 1-0 at Hasely Crawford Stadium on Monday night.

SV Inter Moengo-tapoe (Suriname) have pulled out of Group One of the Caribbean Football Union Caribbean Club Championships to be played in Trinidad and Tobago, while Antigua Baraccudas who had also indicated their intention to pull out, have got sponsorship and now want back in.
