DEFENDING champions Naparima College are heading into a real dogfight with arch-rivals St Benedict's College to regain their South Zone title. After a brilliant start to the season, in which they rattled off three straight wins and seemed invincible, Naps suddenly became erratic losing two of their remaining four matches in the first round.

NORTH Zone champions St Anthony's College are floundering in this year's BWIA Secondary Schools Football League. The West Moorings-based unit have found themselves one place from the bottom of the table after the first round of competition. They have amassed just six points from seven games to date and ended the first round with a string of three straight losses.

MALICK, Arima, St Benedict's and Signal Hill have emerged as first round winners in the BWIA Secondary Schools Football League. Malick are atop the North Zone with 16 points from their seven matches. The Morvant side hold a four point lead over St Mary's, who in turn is a point ahead of third placed Queen's Royal College.

THE "Saints" have been at times brilliant and sometimes disappointing. Against both St Anthony's and QRC, they had more then 70 per cent possession of the ball, more opportunities to score in the first half, went in at half time leading 3-0, only to see the opposition comeback in the second half to nearly steal the points.
