The USA topped Mexico 2:0 to claim the Group B title at the 2004 CONCACAF Women's Pre-Olympic Tournament at the Estadio Nacional in San Jose, Costa Rica on Sunday.

An own goal by Mexican defender Maria De Jesus Castillo and a tally by USA forward Abby Wambach in the 10th and 26th minutes, respectively, gave the stars & stripes the 2:0 victory and first-place in the Group B standings with nine points (3-0-0), while the tricolor finish second with six points (2-1-0) as both head into the CONCACAF Pre-Olympic Tournament Semifinals scheduled for Wednesday (3 March) at the Estadio Nacional.

Three goals by forward Natalie Des Vignes led Trinidad & Tobago (1-2-0, 3 Points) to a 6:2 victory over Haiti (0-3-0, 0 Points) in an earlier encounter at the Estadio Nacional. Forward Maylee Attin-Johnson, midfielders Raeann Elder and Leslie Ann James each added a tally for the soca princesses, while defender Fernande Hilaire and midfielder Nadege Deca had the only goals for the haitian squad in the loss. Dispite the win, TnT will however finish third on the final group B standings with Haiti resting at cellar place. (USA 9, Mex 6, TnT 3, Haiti 0). After the semifinals, tournament concludes on 5 March at Estadio Eladio Rosabal Cordero with the third-place game at 18:00, while the Final is set for 20:00. The finalists will also earn the two CONCACAF berths for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece.
