East Stroudsburg University scored three goals in a six-minute span late in the game after going down 1-0 to blitz Holy Family for a 3-1 win in non-conference men’s soccer on Tuesday night at Eiler-Martin Stadium.

Seydou Ba broke a scoreless tie through 75 minutes with a breakaway goal following an apparent hand ball 10 yards outside the penalty box. The Warriors (5-6-1) responded immediately, as senior midfielder Jason Rudder knocked in a loose ball in front of the net to tie the game 1:14 later.

ESU went ahead 2-1 just 67 seconds after that, as senior midfielder Toric Robinson converted a penalty kick after Holy Family (7-4-1) was whistled for a hand ball inside the six-yard box. Senior forward Tom Ehrlich extended the lead to 3-1 with his first goal for the Warriors in the 83rd minute.

Junior goalkeeper Troy Hernandez made four saves for ESU in his first start of the season. ESU claimed a 15-11 advantage in shots in the contest. Holy Family was the Warriors’ fifth straight opponent that entered the game with a winning record.

The Warriors return to the field on Saturday with a trip to PSAC West foe Lock Haven for a 2 p.m. start.
