After a scoreless first half, junior Stephen Knox recorded two assists to propel the Boston University men's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Vermont on Wednesday night at Nickerson Field. Classmate Ben Berube continued his hot play with his fifth-straight game-winning goal, as the Terriers improved to 8-3-1 and 3-0-0 in America East action.

Following BU's score at 54:20, senior captain Aaron O'Neal added an insurance goal six minutes later to keep pace with Berube on BU's leader board at six goals each. Berube has tallied 14 points (6g, 2a) during the Terriers' five-game winning streak.

On the defensive end, redshirt-freshman Brandon Briggs posted four saves to earn his fifth shutout of the season, while David Ramada had two for Vermont (6-5-3, 1-2-0).

Entering the locker room, the Terriers had a 10-1 edge in shots, as the Catamounts could never connect on chip shots, headers and throw-ins into the box against BU's defense.

BU finally pulled away when the America East player of the game Knox sent a cross from the right side to the front of the goal for Berube to knock in past the keeper. On the second goal, Knox passed to O'Neal, who rifled a low ball from outside the box toward the far post from the right side.

The Terriers finished ahead in shot attempts, 15-11, and were even in corner kicks, 4-4. Berube had eight of the attempts, while UVM's America East player of the game Christian Diaz recorded three.
Looking to keep its win streak alive, BU will next fly down to UMBC for a Friday night showdown on the Fox Soccer Channel with action slated to begin at 8 p.m.
