Four different players scored in a well-balanced attack as the Catawba Indians men’s soccer team picked up its first road win of the season in a 5-1 defeat of St. Andrews at the Knight’s soccer stadium on Wednesday.  With the victory Catawba improves to 2-1, while St. Andrews drops to 1-2.

Down 1-0 on a St. Andrews goal from Alex Smith in the eigth minute, Catawba bounced back with three goals over a seven-minute stretch between halves.

Deon Cuffie-Joseph (Arima, TRINIDAD & TOBAGO/High Point University) started the barrage in the 43rd minute on a strike after weaving through the Knight’s defense. Spencer Preston (Estero, FL/Estero HS) would add a header over the St. Andrews goalie two minutes later and Ezra Ntirugelegwa (Durham, NC/Jordan HS) knocked one in off the crossbar four minutes into the second half for a commanding 3-1 lead the Indians would never relinquish.
