Since arriving in Trinidad at the age of 16, joining Caledonia AIA of Morvant-Laventille, Guyanese midfielder Trayon Bobb improved as fast as his runs down the left flank.

Now at age 18, the speedy winger seems a permanent fixture with the Guyana's Men's Senior Team. And his two goals scored against El Salvador last month in a 2-2 draw didn't come by luck.

The lightened paced 'Bobby' featured brightly for Caledonia last season in the club's First Citizens Cup, Lucozade Sport Goal Shield, FA Trophy and Caribbean Cup successes. He also featured prominently for head coach Jamaal Shabazz—also the Guyana Senior Team coach—in this season's CONCACAF Champions' League group stage.

And most recently he starred in the Final of the 2012-2013 First Citizens Cup Final against Defence Force by helping his club retain the title with a 2-1 score, scoring one and setting up the other. 'Bobby' as far as his nickname goes, was rewarded with the MVP award.

Following the post-match presentation at the Hasely Crawford Stadium on October 5, he told ttproleague.com, "I feel really special. I feel very proud because it's the first time I've won this award."

Commenting on his young but fruitful career in the Pro League, Bobb said, "I'm really improving since playing out here, because back in Guyana we play but we don't really have a league like in Trinidad.

"I came here for experience and to improve my football and it really helped me for international games with Guyana [as well]."

His Caledonia and Guyana teammate, defender Walter Moore, told the 'Golden Jaguars' website, "I think Trayon is maturing a lot and has been putting in a lot of hard work and [earning the MVP] was just a reward for him, for all the hard work he has been doing in training since he joined Caledonia. He really had an excellent game."

Meantime TT Pro League CEO Dexter Skeene reminded, "It's a League that is a stepping stone and it's giving the youngsters from all over the Caribbean and Central and South America to come to our shores and play professional football.

"We are seeing ourselves as the Mecca of football in the Caribbean and we are aspiring to be one of the best leagues in the CONCACAF region and I see no reason why we can't."

Not only has the TT Pro League played residence for a number of players out of Brazil, Colombia, Nigeria, Suriname, England, United States, Guyana, Haiti, St. Vincent, St. Lucia, Grenada and many more; local clubs also exported players to a number of international leagues.

Currently Kenwyne Jones(Stoke City—English Premier League), Carlos Edwards, Jason Scotland (Ipswich Town—England Championship Division), Robert Primus (Aktobe—Kazakhstan Premier League), Kendall Jagdeosingh (Chainat FC—Thai Premier League), Sheldon Bateau (KV Mechelen—Belgium Jupiler League), Lester Peltier (ŠK Slovan Bratislava—Slovakia Corgoň Liga), Willis Plaza (Sông Lam Nghệ An—Vietnamese League), Kevin Molino (Orlando City—USL Pro), Khaleem Hyland (Genk—Belgian Pro League), Carlyle Mitchell (Vancouver Whitecaps—MLS), Keon Daniel (Philadelphia Union—MLS), Antiguan Peter Byers (Antigua Barracudas—USL Pro), Guyanese Gregory Richardson, Dominican Jonathan Fana Frias (Puerto Rico Islanders—NASL) and St. Lucian Zaine Pierre (Genoa—Serie A) are just some former players of the TT Pro League that have moved on to other international leagues.
