Under-13 division leader Defence Force, as well as its U-15 and U-17 teams won the derby of protective services when the club secured three straight wins over Police in the Oasis Youth Pro League, last Sunday.

At the end of the day, Defence Force outscored Police by 17 goals to three, opening with a big 6-1 win in the U-13 division, which kept it at the top of the standings by three points.

Matheus De Lima scored for Police in the 7th minute to cancel out an early own goal, which saw the score stand at 1-1 at the half. The second half was greeted with a flurry of goals in a strong response from Defence Force as Jodel Brown (41st) and Nickell Orr (57th) found the back of the net, while their teammate scored a brace separated by less than a minute (48th and 49th).

The second match saw a one-sided affair from the onset as Defence Force eased to a 4-0 win with goals from Atiba Lucas (20th), Ronaldo Francois (34th), Lawrence Davidson (56th) and Joshua Marshall (73rd). That win kept the Teteron Boys three points behind division leader St Ann’s Rangers, which trounced Central FC 3-0.

Then, in its third match, Defence Force picked up a much needed victory in an action-packed 7-2 win over Police. National U-17 standout Shannon Gomez scored a double, while his fellow national teammate Bret Sam, stole the spotlight with a first half hat-trick.

All Defence Force’s goals had, in fact, been scored in the first half, with Kyell Lancaster and Daniel Banfield the other players on target. Police FC could only muster a two-goal response in the second period through Jabari Cummings and Brent Joel. The U-17 team’s win put them within a point of third spot.
