Round One of the 2011 Oasis Youth Pro League was completed on Sunday with W Connection maintaining its position at the top of the U-13 and U-15 standings, and Joe Public at the top of the U-17 standings.

W Connection U15s, coached by Sean Cooper and Dunstan Williams, finished with maximum 30 points with 10 from 10 after defeating Caledonia AIA 3-1 at the Gilbert Park recreation ground with Trent Paul (42nd minute), leading scorer Yafeu Rougier (68th minute) and Nicholas Dillon (81st minute) netting for the central based team while Andy Huggins scored the lone item for the Morvant/Laventille club in the 80th minute.

Adam’s Construction San Juan Jabloteh whipped FC SouthEnd 8-1 at the San Juan Secondary Ground with Daniel Banfield (10th and 38th minutes) and Kadeem Corbin (59th and 69th minutes) both hitting doubles while Akeem Garcia (3rd minute), Aikim Andrews (34th minute), Mutema Peters (78th mintue) and Kevin Morris (80th minute) netted one each for the second positioned Dave Weekes coached side with 27 points.

Rangers which defeated Joe Public 3-1 on Sunday sits third on the standings with 21 points, tied with Caledonia AIA and T&TEC.

Rougier leads the U-15 scorers list with 16 goals followed by Jabloteh’s Akeem Garcia with 15 goals and T&TEC’s Keston Purcell with 11 goals. Connection not only showed their ability to find the back of the net, but also proved the best defensive having conceded just two goals.

Connection, boasting 9 wins and 1 draw, finished the Round two points short of maximum points in the U13 division with 28 points, followed by Joe Public (24 points) in second and San Juan Jabloteh (22 points) in third.

On Sunday morning the Connection U-13s slapped a 5-1 win over Caledonia through goals by Isaiah Hudson(3rd and 40th minutes), Terrell Williams (37th and 67th minutes) and Judah St. Louis (63rd minute) while Ché Benny pulled back a goal for the visitors in the 63rd minute.

And in the U-17 division it was no stopping the John Henry coached Joe Public which pulled a narrow 1-0 victory over Rangers at the Marvin Lee Stadium thanks to an early Shaquille Bertrand item in the 14th minute.

Joe Public with 30 points at the top of the standings, not only enjoys a perfect run of form in the U17 division but also an 8 point gap on the pack.

Jabloteh follows in second with 22 points and Rangers in third with 19 points.

Jabloteh enjoyed its Round One Match Day Eleven fixture against FC SouthEnd whipping the southerners 3-0 in the U-13s, followed by its 8-1 win in the U-15s and ending with a 6-1 result in the U-17s.
