HARLEM STRIKERS stayed atop the standings in the Central Football Association (CFA) 2012 season following a convincing 4-1 triumph over Leeds FC in the second of back-to-back games recently at Frederick Settlement, Caroni.

Randy Ramcharan (12th), Runel Lynch (57th), Phillip Wickham (67th) and Markus Carimbocas (74th) got their names on the scoresheet for Harlem with Randy Harris (74th) replying for Leeds.

Cunupia FC were awarded a 3-0 win over Flamengo FC in the earlier game as Flamengo defaulted the contest.

A doubleheader was carded for the Couva Recreation Ground last Friday, but the second scheduled game between St Mary’s United and Cap Off Youths FC was abandoned due to an alleged stabbing incident.

In the earlier fixture, ADL Couva Sports pipped KC Perseverance United 3-2. Bryant Constantine (33rd), Mark Phillips (61st) and Kyle St Claire (90th) were the goal-getters for Couva Sports while Teba McKnight (48th) and Kevon Edwards (82nd) responded for Perseverance United.

Also on last Friday’s agenda, Edinburgh 500 defeated Las Lomas United 2-0 at the Edinburgh 500 Recreation Ground, with strikes from Atiba Alves (42nd) and Stephen Julien (87th) while Enterprise Youths FC battled to a goalless draw with Perseverance Ball Runners at the Hugo Francis Recreation Ground, Woodford Lodge.

Today, there will be a doubleheader at the Edinburgh 500 Recreation Ground, from 5 pm, with ADL Couva Sports meeting Leeds United and, two hours later, KC Perseverance United opposing Enterprise Youths FC.

Tomorrow, Cap Off Youths FC will square off against Flamengo FC at the Jerry Junction Ground, Waterloo.
