St Mary’s upset Harlem

At the Hugo Francis Recreation Ground in Woodford Lodge, St Mary’s broke the deadlock after seven minutes through Andre Nicholas, with Carlon Lewis doubling the lead in the 18th.

And Ryan Frederick ensured that there was no way back for Harlem, with a pair, in the 34th and 60th.

Three matches were contested on Tuesday, with second-placed Cunupia FC whipping Cap Off Youths FC 4-2 in the first of back-to-back matches at Woodford Lodge.

Anthony Noel netted twice for Cunupia, in the 21st and 34th minutes, while Kevin Eastman got the third in the 63rd and an own goal sealed the deal in the 76th.

Cap Off Youths got a pair of late consolation items, from Keon Paul in the 84th and Emilio Smith in the 89th.

Later in the evening, third-placed Enterprise Youths pipped Leeds FC 2-1. Mariba Jacob (35th) and Darian Marshall (72nd) found the back of the net for Enterprise, while Randy Harris (41st) replied for Leeds.

And, at the Edinburgh 500 Recreation Ground in Chaguanas, fourth-placed Las Lomas United strolled past ADL Couva Sports 3-1.

Keswrick McKenzie (fourth), Kareem Beckles (34th) and Aleem Chang (64th) got their names on the scoresheet for Las Lomas, with Couva’s lone goal-getter, Jason Mills (49th).

Matches will continue this week — two games tomorrow and two games Wednesday.

Simultaneously, from 7 pm tomorrow, St Mary’s United will be facing Cap Off Youths FC at Woodford Lodge, while Las Lomas United are due to meet Leeds United at Edinburgh.

And a double-header will be staged at Woodford tomorrow, with Perseverance Ball Run opposing KC Perseverance United from 5 pm while, two hours later, Edinburgh 500 will face Enterprise Youths FC.
