Malabar FC kept its fine form in the league running with a 3-2 victory over title challengers Joe Public, to maintain a three-point gap at the top of the Emerald Apartments and Plaza-sponsored Eastern Football Association (EFA) Premier Division, on Saturday.

Joe Public attempted a late fight back with two goals scored in the last ten minutes of regulation time through Julien Nathan (80th) and Jean Michael Blackwell (88th), but Dinelle Lopez’s goal in the 42nd minute, which put Malabar 3-0 up, proved to be the deciding goal on the day.

Michael Cornwall opened for Malabar in the 16th minute, before Kevora Corwall doubled up just after the half-hour mark. La Horquetta SA also kept in the running for the title with a vital 2-1 win over fourth-placed WASA FC.

In the First Division, runaway leader T&T Prisons suffered its second loss of the season after being thrashed 6-2 by Tunapuna Titans.

Kevin Mungo bagged a hat-trick with Theo Hosein and Ajaya Douglas scoring a double and a lone goal, respectively. Marlon Lawrence scored another double for Prisons, with one on each side of the half.
