T&T Prison and Queen’s Park Cricket Club moved into a two-way lead at the top of the CNG National Super League Championship Division table after posting comfortable wins on Tuesday.

When the day started, the quartet of Prisons, Saddle Hill Hotspur, QPCC and Cunupia FC were locked in a four-way tie at the top of ten-team table with four points each one more than the duo of Malabar FC and Edinburgh 500.

However, at the Edinburgh 500 Recreation Ground, T&T Prisons blanked Edinburgh 500 FC with late second-half strikes from Curtis Carrington in the 76th and Roland Walcott, four minutes later to move to seven points from three matches, the same as Queen’s Park CC.

At the Queen's Park Oval, Tragarete Road, the Parkites trounced Cunupia FC with a goal each from Jason Devonish (26th), Troy Thompson (38th), and Jerome Charles (78th).

A further point behind is Malabar FC, 3-1 victors over Saddle Hill Hotspur at Hasely Crawford Stadium Training Ground, Mucurapo via a hat trick from Mekheil Peters.

Malabar took the lead in the eight minute when Peters got his first and three minutes into the second-half he doubled his and the team’s tally.

Former England-based national striker Hector Sam reduced the deficit for Saddle Hill in the 67th minute, but six minutes later Peters completed his treble to kill off the contest.

In the day’s two other matches, Petit Valley United and Xtrafoods Chaguanas FC both picked up their first wins.

Chaguanas got a double from Kareem Beckles in the tenth and 23rd minutes to shut out University of T&T 2-0 at New Settlement Ground, Chaguanas while Petit Valley got a goal each from Jabari Carasquero (14th) and Karamo Samuel (19th) at Northern Recreation Ground, D/Martin, 6pm.
