Economy StrikersEconomy Strikers copped the coveted Knock Out title Friday night at the Marvin Lee Stadium against San Fernando hopefuls T&TEC. Although ninth in the standings Economy did not hesitate to surge forward to the head of the pack in the Knock Out competition and silenced the energetic T&TEC following, who were convinced of their win when star striker, Tigana Sparks scored the first goal in the 38th minute of play.

Economy, however, came back with a vengeance in the second half and equalized in the 57th minute. T&TEC were determined to get their second goal, but to no avail due to Economy’s tight defence. The championship point came in the 70th minute when Irvin Reyes slipped through T&TEC’s defence and scored their second goal. The T&TEC supporters remained hopeful, but they were unable to equalize leaving Economy with their first Super League title and winning thirty-five thousand dollars.
