Former T&T international footballers, Brent Sancho and Cyd Gray were on hand to find the right fit for some of the 400 children who are to benefit from the fourth annual Payless Gives Shoes 4 Kids initiative, a presentation made by Payless ShoeSource, to the Cyril Ross Nursery, for the Christmas season.

Children from across T&T will benefit from the new shoes as part of Paless ShoeSources’ social responsibility programme, which extends across Latin America and the Caribbean.

According to the sponsor, the focus of the initiative is to allow children from families who do not have the purchasing power to access new footwear and enjoy the luxury of buying shoes for their children.

“It’s a gesture that goes beyond CSR and Payless is again very proud and happy to partner with the Cyril Ross Nursery and to share this very special time of year with its staff and children. We all love new shoes but unfortunately for some of us shoe shopping is not a familiar experience. Some children will never know the joy of walking into a store and choosing a shoe that they like,” said Michelle Rodulfo, country manager for Payless ShoeSource T&T.

The Cyril Ross Nursery will once again receive the donation in T&T. Cyris Ross is an institution owned and operated by the St Vincent de Paul society. It houses 38 children and is responsible for the medical management of 30 other children living with their parents or guardians in different parts of the country.
