T&T midfielder Andre Boucaud says he expects the national senior team to step up its game when they face Jordan in the upcoming friendly international in Amman on Tuesday.

Boucaud was speaking after this country’s 1-0 loss to Curacao on Friday as the team’s build up for the CONCACAF Gold Cup continues.

“I think it was very disappointing to have lost the game to Curacao especially after we did well enough to come away with a result away from home against a team that was in full gear for a World Cup qualifier against Cuba and coached by a very experience individual in Patrick Kluivert,” Boucaud said.

“But this was good experience for some of the new guys in our team and of course the coach got to see what has to work on. But again we are hoping that things improve because we want to be sure of what we’re going to get into before the Gold Cup.

I expect the players will want to step it up big time as we get close to the Gold Cup and that means we’ll want to do better against Jordan and hopefully against Haiti before the tournament starts for us against Guatemala.”
