Scotiabank Trinidad and Tobago Limited has contributed $91,014 to the Trinidad and Tobago national football team to assist with preparations for the World Cup Finals in Germany.

The cheque was handed over to Jack Warner, special adviser to the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (TTFF), who accepted on behalf of the team.

The donation was made possible through a Scotiabank promotion, run between November 8 and 17 last year, in which $1 was donated to the T&T team for every Scotiabank ATM transaction conducted with the use of a Scotiacard.

Richard P Young, managing director of Scotiabank Trinidad and Tobago Limited, said: "The fact that the Soca Warriors have qualified for the World Cup 2006 fills us with a tremendous sense of pride here at Scotiabank and as a responsible corporate citizen, we recognised that it was imperative to come to their assistance and demonstrate our support in a tangible manner, as they embark on their historic debut in Germany".
