SOCA WARRIORS supporters have been invited to be a part of the upcoming Heroes Convention IV on April 6, 7 and 8 at Gulf City Auditorium, San Fernando.

They can send best wishes to the players by signing a commemorative t-shirt or saying a few words of encouragement on a DVD being developed to inspire the players.

Organisers of the Convention, the Heroes Foundation, will also be launching a tribute comic book on the Soca Warriors, “Road to Germany.” The Heroes Foundation is a non-profit organisation.

The comic book highlights the trials and tribulations of the team experienced through the eyes of a loyal fan. The script was written by Terrence Ragoonanan and was illustrated by Shaun Riaz Mohammed and Marvin Leech.

Rangie Persad was the graphic artist who pulled the project together along with Candice Lalla, project coordinator.

The book, which is expected to be a collector’s item, will be on sale to the public soon after the Convention.

The Foundation would also be launching their fourth Heart of a Hero (HOAH) comic book which would be available at the Convention.

This book is aimed at empowering young people with information on issues they confront daily, including alcohol abuse, premarital sex and crime. The story was skillfully produced by the Heroes Foundation team including writer Shaun Raiz Mohammed and artists Marvin Leech, Michelle Amoroso and Khadija Mohammed.

In April the creative teams for both comic books will be at the Convention to answer questions from the public.

As a special treat, Anthony Rougier and the TT national football captain in 1999 who led the team to win Copa Caribe and reach semi-finals of Gold Cup 2000, will be there to share his experiences as a Soca Warrior.
