NAPARIMA College defeated Presentation College, San Fernando 2-0 in the 12th Annual Val Turton Carl Osborne Intercol Double Header held on Saturday at the Guaracara Park, Pointe a Pierre.

The Naparima team dominated possession and play and got goals on either side of the half to emerge victorious over Presentation. As a result, they retained the VTCOF Challenge trophy on which they registered a first lien in 2012. Akeem Humphrey was adjudged the Most Valuable Player in the match and for that he received $400.

The Naparima men also won the Mayor’s Trophy for the “Best Riddim Section”. In the earlier Ladies’ Game, Fyzabad Secondary won 5-2 on penalties over Pt. Fortin East Secondary.

For their victory they walked away with the gold medals and the Dr Jean Ramjohn-Richards Challenge trophy.

Sheniece Garcia of Fyzabad Secondary was also adjudged the Most Valuable Player in the Girls’ game and also received $400.

The Jaggernauth Sport Centre trophy for best goal of the tournament went to Denecia Prince of Fyzabad.

During the Prizegiving ceremony Joel Edwards, Chairman of the Foundation thanked everyone for their continuing support and indicated that from the funds raised by the Foundation, six (6) bursaries will be granted to students of the participating schools, two each from Naparima and Presentation and one each to the girls’ schools, to assist them in their tertiary education.
