Naparima College, the reigning First Citizens/BGTT Secondary Schools Football League Premier Division League and “Big-Four” title holders, St Mary’s College and Shiva Boys Hindu College maintained their 100 per cent winning records when matches continued yesterday.

Down at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella, Naparima got a second-half strike from Jarred Dass (54th) and Jeremiah Kezar in the 90th minute to blank long-time rivals, Presentation College of San Fernando  2-0 in their “South Derby” to add to its first day 2-0 blanking of Queen’s Royal College and moved to six points.

However at the top of the table on goal-difference is the “Saints” who also kept a second straight clean sheet as they trounced bitter rival and  last year’s League and “Big-Four” runner-up St Anthony’s College 4-0 at St Anthony’s College Ground, Westmooring.

For the “Saints”, Ethan Shim opened the scoring as early as the fifth minute before Chinua Bernard doubled the lead in the 32nd. In the second-half, the “Saints” 3-0 winners over Trinity College East in their opener, added items from Daniel Conocchiari in the 65th and Kyle Mowser in the 94th to complete the emphatic win over the host, who were without the suspended Jules Lee.

At Fatima College Ground, Mucurapo, Yohannes Richardson fired Shiva Boys ahead in the 12th minute and his team held that lead until Quinn Rodney doubled the advantage in the 51st. Spurred on by its home crowd, Fatima clawed its way back into the contest in the 79th when Adam Uddenberg converted from the penalty-spot, however, Shiva held onto the slim lead for a second straight win.

There were also wins for San Juan North, Fyzabad Secondary, St Augustine Secondary and Queen’s Royal College while matches continue on Wednesday. In the Championship Division on Friday, Brandon La Croix, of Five Rivers, and Luke La Croix, of Valencia High, (no relation) scored two goals apiece to lead their respective schools to comfortable victories.

Up at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Malabar, in the zonal opener, Brandon La Croix scored a first-half brace in the 39th and 41st, while Ronald Boyce (42nd), Zidane Liverpool (44th) and Dominic Douglas (53rd) added one each for Five Rivers in their 5–0 thrashing of Barataria South. And Valencia spanked Arima North 4–1 with Luke La Croix scoring a double as well in the 34th and 40th minutes.
