TERRYL ELWIN netted a hat-trick to lead San Juan Senior Comprehensive to the East Zone RBTT InterCol final, where they will meet 2005 "Big 5" champions St Augustine Senior Comprehensive.
Yesterday, San Juan registered a convincing 5-2 victory over Hillview College in the first match of a semi-final double-header at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Malabar, while St Augustine were even more prolific and won 6-2 over El Dorado Senior Comprehensive in the other semi.
After going in locked 1-1 with Hillview at the interval, Elwin produced a second half treble (54th, 59th, 90th) as San Juan pulled away in the second half.
San Juan had taken the lead in the 12th minute through Ayinda George, but Hillview pulled level through Carlyle Mitchell in the 38th. Kerry Daniel then shot San Juan into a 2-1 lead in the 47th minute before two quick Elwin strikes made it 4-1. Stephan George pulled one back for Hillview in the 71st minute, before Elwin completed his hat-trick in time added-on.
In the Central Zone semi-final, Marvin Manswell netted a brace as Presentation College of Chaguanas dominated Tabaquite Composite by a 4-0 margin.
Ian Paul also scored for Pres, while Tabaquite conceded an own goal as well.
The other Central semi-final saw Kevon George's lone strike giving Carapichaima a slender 1-0 win over Marabella Junior Secondary.
