Signal Hill Comprehensive registered the biggest margin of victory as competition in the Tobago Zone of the Trinidad and Tobago Secondary Schools Football Association League Championship tournament got going.

However, Roxborough Composite was the most impressive. They held the defending champions Mason Hall Government Secondary to a one-all draw and then made Scarborough Secondary struggle all the way to eke out a 1-0 victory against them.

The Windward-based school which has never won the league title played the better part of the 80 minute encounter against Scarborough Secondary School with 10 men after Nicholas Small was given marching orders.

In the most competitive game last week, Delmon Murray gave the Roxborough Composite team the lead in the first half which they held to the end of the half.

On the resumption the exchanges were fairly even but Mason Hall got a lifeline when one of their players was fouled in the 18 yard-box in the 85th minute. Mason Hall Secondary School's national player, Omar Charles made no mistake from the penalty spot as his team just managed to salvage a draw. Roxborough which boast a very young team with a number of form two and three players in their line-up also gave a courageous and impressive display against powerhouse Scarborough Secondary.

Playing with 10 men for most of the game after one of their players received a red card; the ten-man Roxborough team never seemed to be at a numerical disadvantage.

Though Scarborough Secondary enjoyed the better of the exchanges they did not really dominate the proceedings and only got the winner in the 90th minute courtesy a Kursyl Vincent item.

Speyside lost two games and could be the new whipping boys of the league. They were bombed out by Signal Hill Comprehensive 4-1 and Scarborough Secondary 2-0.
