Laurel Theodore banged in nine goals to lead Defence Force to an emphatic 27-0 mauling of the University of the West Indies (UWI) in a rescheduled match to stay in the hunt for the Trinidad Claire George Conference of the T&T Women’s League Football (WoLF) title on Tuesday night.

Playing at UWI's St Augustine ground, Theodore, who was voted 'Player of the Match' was off the mark within the first minute of the kick-off and doubled her and the team's tally in the second minute followed by further strikes in the 44th, 53rd, 63rd, 65th, 72nd, 86th, and 90th minute of the one-sided contest.

The duo of Shania Lewis (4th, 25th, 40th, 57th) and Aaliyah Prince (11th, 45th, 45th, 59th) helped themselves to beaver tricks while Shanelle Arjoon also fired in a hat trick in the 12th, 62nd, and 90th for the winner as the Army/Coast-Guard combination team boosted its goal difference ahead of its title-decider with current table leader Club Sando.

Not to be overshadowed, Sheneil Findley (78th, 82nd) added a second-half double while there were also items from the quartet of Jo-Marie Lewis (22nd), Nathifa Hackshaw (45th), Tamika Isaac (76th), and Jalene Sobers (81st) while UWI's Danielle Xavier scored an own goal in the 41st.

The win lifted Defence Force, who was coming off a title-denting 2-0 loss against AC Port-of-Spain back into second spot with 21 points from eight matches, the same as AC PoS but with a healthier goal difference of plus-75 to plus-45, while Club Sando leads with 24 points and a goal-difference of plus-54, having yet to allow a goal against in eight matches played.

Going into the final round of matches, Club Sando just needs to avoid defeat against Defence Force to claim the title, while the latter needs nothing less than three points which will see the title heading Chaguaramas, due to their superior goal difference.
