BLACK Rock United and 1976 FC Phoenix scored contrasting victories in the Western Conference of the Tobago Football Association on Thursday to enhance their position in the standings.

At Plymouth, Kino Kerr scored a brace in Black Rock's comprehensive 4-1 victory over leaders Golden Lane, who still lead the Conference with 15 points from seven games, including five wins.

Michael Carrington and Adrian Morris provided the other strikes for the winners, who are now fourth on the table with nine points. They have played four games, winning three and losing the other.

Imiah Taylor replied for Golden Lane who will be striving hard to return to the Premier Division following demotion last season.

Phoenix enjoyed a slim 2-1 win over Bethel Uprising to occupy second spot on the standings. Joel Alleyne and Melvin Nero scored the goals as Phoenix increased their points tally to 12. They have recorded three wins and the same number of draws plus one defeat.

Signal Hill United picked up their first success of the season when they beat Lambeau United 3-1 in a bottom-of-the-table clash at Signal Hill. Doing the business for the winners were Rondell George with a double and Kareem Nathan.

In the Eastern Conference, NLCB Mt Grace United pulled clear at the front following a 4-1 demolition of Mason Hall PYC on the training ground at the Dwight Yorke Stadium, Bacolet on Thursday afternoon.

Keision Blackman collected a double as Mt Grace (15 points) moved three ahead of second placed Youth Stars (ten). Brian Brown and Shawn Murray added the other two items for the winners.

Ronnie Charles supplied the strike for Lambeau, who remained rooted at the bottom of the ladder. Moriah Youths squeezed out Leeds United for third -spot based on goal difference. Both teams have nine points.
