Youths defeated Moriah Youths 4-1 to preserve their unbeaten record, while Iraq squeezed past Little Jammas to stay in the title race at the end of the first round of competition in the Castara Community Football League.

Iraq moved into second place, after an injury time winner from Sherlon Phillips against cellar position Little Jammas. The match which was played last Thursday saw Iraq having to come from behind to defeat Little Jammas 2-1.

Little Jammas opened their scoring in the 16th minute, but two minutes later before little Jammas supporters could settle down Iraq nullified the lead through a bullet that flew into top corner of the net.

On the resumption, both teams pressed for the go ahead goal , but they were both let down by some poor finishing. The match seemed to be heading for a draw when Sherlon Phillips collected a loose ball just outside the 18 yard box and took a shot that ended up in the 'V' of the goal, giving the keeper no chance to send their supporters into a winning celebration.

In Youths final first round match, last Saturday against Moriah the game was evenly balanced in the first half with niether team able to capitalize on their chances as the first half ended goalless.

However , the second half belonged to Kyle George of Youths, who scored four goals in the first fifteen minutes to knock the fight completely out of Little Jammas.
