LAMBEAU United and Carnbee/Mt Pleasant opened up a five-point gap on their nearest rivals in the battle for promotion in the Second Division of the Tobago Football Association last weekend.

On Saturday, Lambeau United belted 1976 FC Phoenix 5-1 to take the lead level on goal difference over Carnbee/Mt Pleasant, while Carnbee stayed in touch with a comprehensive 3-1 win over Moriah Youths at the Table Piece ground in Les Coteau on Thursday.

David Gill netted brace and Deon Melville had the other for Carnbee/Mt Pleasant, while Kieyn Kerr scored for Moriah Youths.

Lambeau had five different players on the scoresheet in their big win. They were Lex Bovell, Marlon Green, Alon Forester, Damion Quildon and Arthur Moses.

Brent Cruickshank netted for Phoenix, who are in third place behind Calder Hall FC on goal difference. At the top of the table, Carnbee/Mt Pleasant have a goal difference of 14 compared with Lambeau's 11.

Federation Northside FC remained in ninth spot following a 3-3 stalemate with Signal Hill United at Table Piece on Saturday. Kern Boodoo netted a double for Northside. Dennis Bruce also netted twice for Signal Hill, while Stefan Hector had the other effort for them.
