A double from Steffon Hector set up an entertaining 3-2 win for 1976 Phoenix over Taylor’s Rentals Goal City in the Tobago Football Association Premier Division on Monday.
The win was only the second from six matches for Phoenix, now with eight points the same as Mason Hall USSS in joint fourth spot. Mason Hall was held to a 2-2 draw by Leeds United also at Canaan.
At the top of the table is defending champion St Clair Coaching School and Sidey’s FC with maximum 15 points from five matches, however, St Clair CS has a better goal difference of plus 13 to Sidey’s plus nine. Roxborough Lakers is third with 11 points.

Sidey’s keep in step with leaders.

SIDEY’S got a goal from Kirton Warrick and held on for a 1-0 victory over Georgia FC, to keep in step with defending champions and Premier Division leaders St Clair’s Coaching School in the Tobago Football Association.
At their home ground in Speyside on Sunday, the Sidey’s men got all they could handle for Georgia who are third from bottom.
Sidey’s were winning their fifth game in as many matches for 15 points to trail Coaching School on goal-difference.
Roxborough Lakers slid into third when they were awarded their game over Charlotteville Unifiers by default giving them 11 points from six games.
At Canaan No 1 ground, 1976 Phoenix continued their erratic form edging Taylor’s Rentals Goal City 3-2.
Steffon Hector scored a double and Leslie Bristol the other goal while Kayode Legall and Sherlon Phillips netted for Goal City. But on the Canaan No 2 ground, Leeds United and Mason Hall USSS played to a 2-2 draw.
Ian Richards and Kursyl Vincent scored for Leeds while Caston Cupid and Danny Pantin got the goals for Mason Hall.
