Sidey’s and Stokely Vale both missed out on cutting into defending champion St Clair Coaching School’s lead at the top of the Tobago Football Association Premier Division with disappointing results on Wednesday.
Second placed Sidey was held to a 1-1 draw by 1976 FC Phoenix with Dwayne Murray and Curtis Joseph the scorers for the respective clubs, while Roxborough Lakers blanked Stokely Vale 2-0.
Affiba Mc Kenna and Solomon Scott were on target for Lakers. As it stands, St Clair CS, already winner of the TFA FA Trophy this season for a second straight year, lead the 12-team table with 36 points from 12 matches, seven ahead of Sidey’s while Stokely Vale is next with 20 points followed by Goal City with 19 and Lakers, a further point behind.
On Tuesday, Dominique Roberts and David Gill both banged in a pair of goals as Carnbee/Mt Pleasant outclassed Golden Lane 4-1 in the First Division. The win carried Carnbee/Mt Pleasant to 22 points from 11 matches, one adrift of leader Youth Stars United which has two matches in hand.
Golden Lane which had Kurtnell Joseph on target stayed sixth with 15 points. HV Milan also closed to within three points of top spot after a 3-1 defeat of Signal Hill United with Macarno Collette, Kareem Campbell and Chris Cupid the scorers to cancel out Omale Jackson’s item. And in the other match, Akil Peterkin and Neeshun Roberts scored for Mt Grace in a 2-0 triumph over Mason Hall PYC.
