T&TEC marches into the Southern Football Association League Cup final after beating University of T&T (UTT) 9-5 on aggregate.
This, after the “Electricity Boys,” 7-3 winners of their first-leg meeting, battled to a 2-2 draw with UTT in the return leg at Tarouba, Link Road, on Wednesday.
Jamaal Creighton scored both goals for UTT while Lester Edwards also netted a double for T&TEC, which had done all its hard won in the first leg.
T&TEC now awaits the winner of the other semifinal between Petrotrin Super League champion and Executive Cup winner Pt Fortin Civic Centre and Marabella Family Crisis Centre to be played on January 4 and 11, due to the latter’s involvement in the T&TFF FA Trophy competition.
Meanwhile, Marabella Family Crisis Centre cemented third spot on the Premier Division table with a 3-1 whipping of Penal All Stars thanks to a goal each from Arkivo Joseph, Akida Boissiere and Stephan Campbell.
With the win, Marabella ended its 20-match campaign with 39 points, 15 behind champions Pt Fortin while T&TEC was second with 42.
