CUNUPIA FC won the Sanitank League Cup, which was staged at the Hugo Francis Recreation Ground, Chaguanas on Thursday.

Anthony Noel scored in the 57th minute as Cunupia edged Coosals Las Lomas 1-0, as the Central Football Association (CFA) 2013 season drew to a close.

Before kick-off, the players met recently-appointed Chaguanas Mayor Gopaul Boodhan and Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) general secretary Sheldon Phillips, and also observed a moment of silence due to the passing, earlier in the day, of former South African President Nelson Mandela.

At the end of the final, the season’s prize-giving ceremony took place, with League winners Las Lomas claiming two major awards, as they walked away with the Team of the Year prize, while their tactician Randolph Boyce was presented with the Coach of the Year trophy. In related news, Las Lomas suffered their first loss of the season last Monday, with an embarrassing 6-1 result against Enterprise Youths FC in the CFA Ramsingh Sports FA Cup final.

Denzil Daniel registered a hat-trick (46th, 73rd and 78th) while Kefim Blackford (44th and 65th) and Trevern Sobers (36th) got the others for Enterprise Youths. Shaquille Holder pulled one back for Las Lomas in the 51st.
