Dwayne Leon converted from the penalty spot to secure a 1-0 for Enterprise Youths over Perseverance United and up to second on the CRIL-sponsored Central Football Association Premier Division League table on Tuesday.
Leon’s goal came in the 41st minute in a very closely fought match at Hugo Francis Recreation Ground which carried Enterprise Youths to nine points from four matches, three behind unbeaten leaders Cunupia.
Cunupia goes after a fifth straight win away to Xtrafoods Chaguanas at the same venue from 6 pm today.
In Tuesday’s opening match also at the same venue, Arawak Combined missed a chance to trim Cunupia’s lead to two points after a shock 2-0 loss against cellar-placed former champions Leeds.
Dillion Thomas in the 32nd and Zerron Forte, in the 56th were the players on target for winners, to earn their first points in three matches. The other match carded for Tuesday between Harlem Strikers and Enterprise Life Sports did not take place.
