Herkimer County Community College soccer player Kariym Balthazar (Brooklyn, NY) was named Region III Male Athlete of the Week by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).

Balthazar scored five goals this week including the game winner in a 2-1 victory over Broome Community College and a hat trick against Adirondack Community College. Balthazar currently leads the Herkimer Generals, ranked #1 in the most recent NJCAA national poll, in scoring with nine goals and four assists.
