POINT FORTIN Civic FC earned a crucial 2-0 win over Marabella Family CC in the Southern Football Association (SFA) Petrotrin Super League Cup Semi-Final first leg recently.
Steven Joseph and Andre Alexis scored in either half for Point Fortin, who need to avoid a three-goal defeat to progress to the final.
There were a pair of quarter-final contests, with UTT advancing to the last four by virtue of an aggregate score of 5-3 over Penal Rock Road.
The first leg ended 2-2 with Garvin Samaroo netting twice for UTT while Irvin Williams and Odel Mascall found the back of the net for Penal.
UTT prevailed 3-1 in the return leg, courtesy items from Samaroo, Isaiah Mejias and Jamaal Creighton, while Julien Williams got the consolation for Penal.
In another quarter-final tie, TTEC eliminated Centre of Excellence 3-2 on aggregate.
Lester Edwards was on target as TTEC won the first leg 1-0, while the return leg ended 2-2 with Akiel Redhead and Shaquille Ferrier scoring for TTEC with Akeem Rivers and Kern Cummings responding for Centre of Excellence.
In the Premier Division, PAL United pipped Big Dreams United 3-2 in a Match Day 19 fixture.
Keston Whyte, Kevon Simmons and Rendeii Phillip scored for PAL United with Solomon Brereton and Nigel John replying for Big Dreams.
But two games in the group ended in 3-0 victories, via default, for Marabella Family over Brick Field Falcons and OJs Soldado All Stars over Penal All Stars.
And, in the Roy Jagroopsingh Second Division, Union United FC earned a 3-0 default victory over Gasparillo Youths in a scheduled Match Day 14 fixture.
