A HAT-TRICK of by Miguel Latchroy saw runners-up Manahambre FC seal an important 4-2 win over AKA FC as the Barrackpore Football League continued at the Yoland Pompey Park, Princes Town, over the weekend.

The keenly contested match was riddled with offences by AKA FC players which saw Latchroy convert three penalties and teammate, Atiba Harrisson net another from the penalty spot.

Derone Anwar and Chris Modeste both scored one each for seventh place AKA FC. This crucial win by Manahambre FC (26) saw them narrow the lead of league leaders, Barrackpore United (27).

Meanwhile, St Charles United maintained their third placed spot after a 2-0 victory over Clark Rochard United. Avi Rickett and Russel Sahadeo were the goal scorers for St Charles United (21 pts).

Fifth place New Grant United also claimed three points when they beat the Lower Barrackpore Angels 3-1.

New Grant were led by Joseph Bovell who netted twice and Dennison Miguel (1). Kenton Jacob scored the lone goal for the eighth placed, Lower Barrackpore Angels.

Other matches played over the weekend saw Strange Ville United clinch a 3-2 win over Valleyline United and Real Unity SC scraped past Cedar Hill United with a 1-0 win.

Matches continue this weekend. Also, this Sunday the top two teams (Barrackpore United and Manahambre FC) will do battle at the Barrackpore Recreation Ground from 4.30pm.
