Two clubs from Tobago will be in action this evening when the remaining Match Day One fixtures in the blink/bmobile National Super League kick off, from 4 pm.

Both matches are expected to see keen battles, particularly the knockout trophy winner in the last campaign, Stokely Vale’s clash with Defence Force, which will take place at the Plymouth Recreation Ground, in Tobago.

The other match will be between last year’s league third placed finisher Westside Superstarz, which enjoyed a brilliant run of results, but dipped tremendously toward the end of the campaign, facing 1976 FC Phoenix, at St Anthony’s College Ground, Westmoorings.

The two fixtures will close off Match Day One, which began on Sunday, with a host of intriguing matches. Reigning winner, WASA FC suffered an immediate setback when it was shocked 2-0 by a visiting Club Sando.

Other results saw Real Maracas rout Siparia Spurs 3-1; newly-promoted Malabar FC drop last year’s debutant FC Santa Rosa 2-1, and 2012 treble winning club Joe Public held 0-0 at home to another newly-promoted club Guaya United. Bethel United was on a bye for the first match day. Bethel will get its first taste of NSL football when it faces Westside Superstarz, away from home, on Sunday.
