WASA overtook TTEC for the lead in the Bmobile National Super League after a 2-0 win at Defence Force in Match Day Eight of the season on Sunday.

Due to inter-island flights woes, two games were cancelled — Valtrin against Stokely Vale at the NUGFW Ground in Valsayn, and TTEC versus 1976 FC Phoenix at the Palo Seco Velodrome.

The Valtrin-Stokely Vale contest will now take place on September 22 while the TTEC-Phoenix clash is scheduled for September 26.

As a result of TTEC’s inactivity, WASA, who entered the game in second spot (similar points to TTEC but an inferior goal difference), got goals from Shervin Charles (74th minute) and Alvin Beharry (82nd) to prevail at the Youth Camp in Chaguaramas.

Defending champs Joe Public moved up to third spot following a 3-0 victory over the lowly Harvard at the Marvin Lee Stadium in Macoya.

Robby Sookhai broke the deadlock in the 59th while Tyrone Charles added a pair, in the 70th and 89th.

The biggest margin of victory of the day was Queen’s Park’s 4-1 spanking of Club Sando at the Queen’s Park Oval, Port-of-Spain.

Chad De Freitas notched a double for the Parkites, in the seventh and 38th minutes, while Jerome Charles (60th) and Jason Charles (84th) chipped in with one apiece. For the visitors, Darren Carter was on target in the 77th.
