A double from Stephon Ealie and solo items from Jabari Mayers and Dirrel Bullen gave Tunapuna Titans a 4-2 win over Santa Rosa in Group A of the Under-13 division of the National Youth League on Saturday.  The victory put the Titans two points behind Santa Rosa but they have two matches in hand while the opponents have completed the group fixtures. The Tunapuna youths kept a cool head after Tyrese Sampson gave Santa Rosa a sixth minute lead which lasted two minutes as Mayers drew his team level.

Tunapuna took the lead through Ealie in the 38th minute but Isaiah Lee, who scored two consecutive doubles in the past two match days,  put Santa Rosa level 2-2 two minutes later.  Bullen put the winners ahead in the 52nd minute and  Ealie sealed the victory seven minutes later with his second.  Santa Rosa now has 12 points while Tunapuna remain in second with 10 points.  Tunapuna still has Harvard and QPCC to play.  In the other Group A fixture, Jabari Norton netted a four goal brace while Kadeem Pierre, Daniel Ferreira, Josiah Simon and Keevon Lewis scored the other goals in  Harvard’s 9-1 demolition of QPCC.

With one match left, Group B has already been determined as Cap Off Youth defeated Club Sando 3-1 on the same day. Goals from Mecaheil Alexander, Amir Fadel and Jourvel Guadeloupe sealed the top spot for Cap Off Youths. An own goal from Club Sando was the team’s only consolation. Cap Off Youths will finish their group fixtures against Joe Public on Saturday. In the Under-15 category, runaway leaders Santa Rosa played to a 2-2 draw with Eagles United in Group A. Eagles took the lead twice with goals from Akeem James (10th minute) and Antonio Jeffrey (30th minute). Akil Evans-French and Tariq Griffith scored the levellers for Santa Rosa in the 13th and 60th minutes respectively.

Meanwhile, Josh Toussaint scored a hattrick for  Harvard in a similarly distressing 8-0 win over QPCC. Isaiah Marshall, Chad Olton, Darren Roberts, Brandon Salandy and Cheyne Stephen were the other scorers. In Group B, a goal from Anderson Toussaint decided the fate of three clubs. Toussaint scored in the 32nd minute to give Moruga a 1-0 win over Joe Public, who went into the game as group leaders but dropped to third because of their loss.  Club Sando which won 4-2 over Cap Off Youths went from third to second position.
