CLUB SANDO overtook Guaya United for the top spot in the Blink/Bmobile National Super League 2013-2014 season.

Club Sando demolished Defence Force 6-0 at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva while Guaya earned a come-from-behind 3-1 win over FC Santa Rosa at the Guaya Recreation Ground, Guayaguayare.

Both teams remained on 19 points, with six wins and a draw apiece, but Sando’s goal difference is now plus-12, while Guaya’s own is plus-10.

Teba McKnight scored twice to give Sando a half-dozen goals against a Defence Force team who have conceded the most goals thus far (22).

McKnight notched his goals in the 13th and 84th minutes, with Andy London (fifth), Devon Modeste (52nd), Odelle Armstrong (75th) and Nigel Daniel (82nd) contributing one each.

Guaya rallied from an early setback to whip cellar-placed FC Santa Rosa, who went ahead courtesy ex-national youth team midfielder Jean-Luc Rochford in the 25th minute.

Kevin Jagdeosingh evened up the scores in the 36th while Ryan Stewart (40th) and Carlon Hughes (87th) added one each.

Reigning champions WASA FC continued their dismal start to their title defence, as they suffered their fourth defeat — a 4-3 setback to Malabar FC.

At the UTT Ground, O’Meara, Arima, Stevon Stoute got a pair for Malabar (17th and 28th), with one goal each from Jameel Neptune (32nd) and Gorian Highley (81st). Glen Walker got a double for WASA, in the 11th and 23rd minutes, with Jahaan Hernandez scoring in the 29th.

A stunning 11-goal affair took place at the Palo Seco Velodrome, as visitors Bethel United got an amazing six goals from Brandon Joseph to edge the hosts Siparia Spurs 6-5.

Joseph got his name on the scoresheet in the 16th, 27th, 36th, 47th, 70th and 84th minutes, in a spectacular display of scoring. Jesse Edwards netted a hat-trick for Siparia, with strikes in the 26th, 31st and 72nd, while Shackiel Henry (17th) and Sean Leung-Tatt (22nd) chipping in with one apiece.

Ellis Dyett notched a pair, in the 16th and 52nd minutes, as Joe Public whipped fellow mid-table outfit Real Maracas 2-0 at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Macoya.

And Stokely Vale got the better of Westside Superstarzs FC 2-1 at the Plymouth Recreation Ground. Krishawn Joseph found the back of the net in the 27th and 89th minutes for the hosts, while Kadeem Awai equalised for Westside in the 74th. Match Day Eight action will be contested on August 18.
