STEVON “Scrappy” STOUTE registered a hat-trick as Cunupia FC hammered Leeds 8-0 on Tuesday in the CRIL-sponsored Central Football Association (CFA) Premier League.

In the second of back-to-back games at the New Settlement Ground, Stoute got his name on the scoresheet in the 25th, 62nd and 67th minutes.

Also getting in the act were Lester Joseph (13th), Duane Baptiste (15th), Marcus Ellis (17th), Jamal Spencer (40th) and Nical Stephens (71st).

Also on Tuesday, Xtra Foods Chaguanas FC rallied from a 2-0 deficit to defeat Edinburgh 500 FC 4-3 at the Edinburgh 500 Recreation Ground.

Calvi Grazette (15th) and Christopher Eneau (27th) were the early scorers for Edinburgh before Chaguanas FC stormed back to take the lead with items from David Abunckle (32nd), Neon O’Garro (47th) and Randy Harris (52nd).

Milton Wilson (61st) equalised for Edinburgh but O’Garro scored the winning goal six minutes later.

Unfortunately, two other matches on Tuesday were abandoned due to dissent shown by a pair of players who were shown red cards in their respective fixtures.

In the earlier game at New Settlement Ground, Arawak Combined FC were leading Enterprise Life Sport FC 2-1 when, according to a media release, “(the) referee abandoned the match in the 70th minute when player Dale Codogan of Enterprise, who (was) shown the red card for violent conduct (allegedly) re-entered the field of play with a glass bottle, threatening that the game is not to continue.”

There was also a moment of controversy at the African Recreation Ground, in the clash between Enterprise Youths FC and Harlem Strikers FC.

Enterprise Youths were ahead 2-0 when the “referee abandoned the match in the 57th minute when (a) player from Harlem was shown the red card, after receiving two yellow cards, and refused to leave the field.”
