Duane Baptiste and Dillon Walker netted two goals each as Cunupia FC clobbered Arawak Combined 6-2 to extend its 100 percent winning run in the CRIL-sponsored Central Football Association Premier Division to seven matches on Wednesday.
Baptiste found the back of the net as early as the eighth minute and got his second in the 36 .
Walker scored in the 17th and 87th minute for the winners who led 4-1 at the half-time interval at Hugo Francis Recreation Ground.
Michael Darko and Patrick Andell added the others for Cunupia in the 41st, and 79th respectively while Theo Hosein (35th) and Richard Seetahal (60th) were on target for Combined.
With the win, Cunupia, winners of the CFA’s FA Trophy already this season improved to maximum 21 points from seven matches, five more than Enterprise Youths FC, which eked out a 3-2 victory over cellar-placed Leeds at African Recreation Ground, Cunupia.
For Enterprise Youths, Taurean Sobers helped himself to a first-half double, in the third and 14th minutes while Antonio Jeffrey got the decisive third in the 61st.
Ricardo Cyrus trimmed the lead for Leeds on the stroke of half-time and Kenneth Cambridge, got a late second, in the 85th.
And at Edinburgh 500 Recreation Ground, David Lendore’s second-half double secured a 4-2 win for the host over former champions, Harlem Strikers. The match between Perseverance United and Xtrafoods Chaguanas was postponed.
