The Oakland University men's soccer team scored two goals off corner kicks as junior Stefan St. Louis and senior Ian Daniel each netted goals, and senior Steve Clark recorded his 10th shutout of the season, making two saves, to lead the Golden Grizzlies (12-4) to their fifth straight win, defeating Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, 2-0, in front of a record crowd of 1,405 fans on Saturday night at the Ultimate Soccer Arena. OU has outscored its opponents 11-0 over the last five games.

Belfon and Penny lead UDC to 5-0 win over Chowan
Freshman forward Akeil Belfon (Brooklyn, NY) scored two goals to lead the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds to a 5-1 defeat of the Chowan College Hawks, today, in Murfreesboro, North Carolina to close out the 2008 season. Belfon’s first goal came in the 12th minute after taking a cross from senior mid-fielder Olivier Guswende and sending the ball into the far corner of the net. The Firebirds ended the season at 4-9-2, while the Hawks concluded their season winless with a record of 0-20-0.
Marshall, Neaves, and Devenish to be honored by USF
The No. 11/12 University of South Florida men’s soccer team will honor their seniors on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m., as they take on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights for the last regular season game of 2008.
Farrier named 2008 Northeast-10 Co-Defensive Player of the Year
Ancil Farrier (Los Bajos, Trinidad) was named 2008 Northeast-10 Co-Defensive Player of the Year and selected to the All-Conference First Team for his performances this season. Teammates, Sean O’Brien (Guilford, Conn.) and Vinicius Da Silva (New York, N.Y.) earned All-Conference Second Team honors, and Paul Templeton (Saltcoats, Scotland) was named to the All-Conference Third Team. In addition, in his first season as an Owl, Daniel Goldberg (Williston Park, N.Y.) was selected to the All-Conference Rookie Team.
Hall named to ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District I First Team
Syracuse senior forward Kyle Hall (Toronto, Ontario) was selected to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District I First Team on Thursday, Oct. 30. Hall is the first Orange men’s soccer player since Jeff Evans and Ryan Hickey in 2004 to earn academic all-district honors.
